Obituary

     David A. Eager, age 61, of Alma, MI, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, at St. Francis Home of Saginaw.

     A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Doug Strait officiating.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

     David was born in Gratiot County, MI on November 7, 1959, the son of Clarence and Julia (Snow) Eager.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany. 

     Dave worked at Alma Products for many years. He was an over the road truck driver and also worked for local farmers. Dave loved hunting, fishing, kayaking, and camping. He enjoyed playing darts, cribbage and reading. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and close friends.

     He is survived by his sons: Eric and Erica Viles of Alma, MI, Erin Viles of Cadillac, MI, Ellery Tkaczyk of Wisconsin, Josh Eager; and daughter Tami Ahlefled; many grandchildren; 1 great grandson; mother Julia Eager; 3 brothers: Roy Eager, Dale Eager, Daniel Eager and 2 sisters: Linda Farr, and Pam Eager-McGrath. He was preceded in death by his father, wife, and 3 sisters: Anna Snow, Liz Miller, and Betty Eager.

     Memorials may be made to St. Francis Home of Saginaw. Online condolences can be made at www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI.
