William Burgess "Bill" Kiser

      William Burgess "Bill" Kiser, age 79, of Ithaca, MI, peacefully passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.

     A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes in Ithaca, MI, on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at 1:00 P.M., with Josh Brunkhorst officiating. Burial will take place at Ithaca Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Sunday at 11:30 A.M. until the service.

     William was born in Alma, Michigan on May 13, 1942, the son of Francis R. and Hattie Rowena (Burgess) Kiser. He graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1960, and was a dedicated member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ithaca. 

     On November 16, 1963, Bill married Marilyn “Lin” May Wold. Lin was star struck with Bill being the stud of the town and they were blessed with 58 years of marriage. Even when Bill liked to give Lin a hard time, he adored her and knew he would never want anyone else right by his side. 

    Bill was known to help everyone and with his giant collection of tools, he could fix anything that came his way. Bill was a mechanic for Liquid Transport for over 27 years.  Bill was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  His loved ones admired his toughness, determination, and his witty sense of humor.  His stubbornness is what carried him through his hardships; his family gives Bill credit for these perfect genes being passed on to them. 

     Bill is survived by his wife Marilyn; daughter Lori (Greg) LaCourt of Rockford, MI; 6 grandchildren: Cameron (Hannah) LaCourt, Ethan LaCourt, Seth Kiser, Cesiley LaCourt, Eliese LaCourt, and Austin Kiser; and 3 sisters: Judy Walker, Linda Johnson, and Annette (Mike) Rayburn.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law Harold and Lucy Wold, son Matthew Kiser, brother Lynn Kiser, sister Kay Wold, brother Larry Kiser, brother Garth McLaren, and brother-in-law Al Johnson.
