William Fleckenstein

William Clayton Fleckenstein, age 45, of Bannister, MI, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bannister United Methodist Church, Bannister, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, with Pastor Zella Daniel officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12 P.M. at the church.

William was born in Falls Church, VA on December 30, 1976, the son of Clayton William and Crystal Lynne (Mitchell) Fleckenstein.  He graduated from Ashley High School with the class of 1996.

William was an avid gamer; he loved D&D where he was often the Dungeon Master.  He was a story teller with a quick wit.  His vocabulary was filled with puns.  He was a historian in his own right and was knowledgeable about nearly every subject.  William was a very compassionate man and loved his cats.  He also enjoyed his annual camping trips with the guys, and game nights with his family playing Euchre, Poker and Kings' Corners.  Most of all, William loved his family and friends and spending time together.

William is survived by his mother Crystal Mitchell, his sister Diane (Brent) Gingrich, and three half-siblings: Todd Fleckenstein, Tanya (Jerome) Sebzda, and Denise (Scott Provorse) Fleckenstein.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Ryan (Cristiano) Guarjdo, Noah Lockhart, and Marcelus Lockhart; great-niece Isabella Guarjdo, and great-nephew Enrique Guarjdo.  William was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bill and Betty Mitchell and Francis and Edna Fleckenstein and father Clayton Fleckenstein.
