Wendell Husted

Wendell B. Husted, age 90, of Ithaca, MI passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor John Hagerman officiating.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.  Burial will take place at Ithaca Cemetery, Ithaca, MI.

Wendell was born in Ithaca, Michigan on July 14, 1925, the son of Clarence and Iva (Witherell) Husted.  Wendell resided all of his life in Ithaca, MI.  He was born and raised in the same home that he has lived in for 90 years.  Wendell married Donna Clark on October 13, 1946 in St. Louis, MI.  Wendell loved farming and carpentry work but was a man of all trades.  After retirement, he worked for the Farm Service Agency as a field reporter for 15 years.  He was active in his church, serving in various roles and teaching Bible Class for many years.

He is survived by his wife Donna Husted of Ithaca, MI, son Gale Husted of Burbank, CA, daughter Jan and David Eckelbarger of Ithaca, MI, 5 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.  Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Gaylord Husted and Leslie Husted and sister Bernetta Shaw Wingle.
