Virginia Lee Pardee

Virginia L. Pardee, age 78, of Ithaca, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw.

Virginia was born in Lansing, on March 19, 1935, the daughter of Fred L. and Evelyn Mary (Sargent) Johnson.  She worked several years as a presser at a laundry in Lansing, and retired from State Farm.

Virginia was an avid reader, and especially found great comfort in reading the bible.  She loved her children and grandchildren, and also very much loved her church family at the East Washington Church where she had been a member for many years.  In her idle time she enjoyed crocheting.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Frank Pardee; her children, Donald (Kristy) Taylor of Idaho, Becky Stahl of Ward, AR, and Leslie Chapman of Ithaca; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; her sister, Judy Kennedy of Lansing; 2 nephews and a niece.  She was preceded in death by her sons, Greg Pardee and Ronald Taylor; her parents; and her brother, Roger Johnson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, at the East Washington Church, with Pastor Jeff Reser officiating.  Interment will be in Ithaca Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca.
