Vickie Lynne Brilhart

Vickie L. Brilhart, age 65, of Ithaca. Died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at home.

Vickie was born March 5, 1948 to Carroll Daton and Shirley (Detillion) Hipolite in Alma. She married William S. Brilhart, Jr. July 9, 2005 in Aurora, Colorado.

Vickie worked for 42 years as a waitress, being employed at Muscott’s Dairy, the Polka Dot, and JJ Ruby’s in Ithaca; and  Cousins, Don’s Seafood & Steak House, and Fine Dining at Casino Magic, all in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a naturalist who loved animals, especially birds and in her youth, the horses she cared for on the Sumner farm . She also enjoyed gardening, traveling and seeing sights, and had a great passion for cooking.

Vickie is survived by her husband, William; children, Stacie Marie Grandy of Crystal, Shawn (Marci) Hubbard of Elwell, Earnest (Jennifer) Johnson of Jefferson, Texas, Brittany (Eric) Cohill of Ft. Myers, Florida, Meghan (Jay) Wilson of Eagle, Colorado, Courtney (Brian) Jones of Centennial, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and one step grandchild.

Funeral services for Vickie will be 1pm, Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ithaca. Rev. Joseph A. Novak will officiate and burial will follow at 4pm in Ithaca Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 6-8pm Wednesday, May 1 at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Presbyterian Church in Ithaca.
