Valerie Jo Buckner

     Valerie Jo Buckner, age 70, of Alma, MI, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at her home.
      Valerie was born in Mesick, MI on May 27, 1955, the daughter of Dorcey and Irene (Jones) Spoor. She was a graduate of Mesick High School.
     Val enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed going on trips, going to lunch with her sisters and loved her "coffee". One of her favorite pastimes was visiting the casino with her grandsons. Dear to her heart was her faith and reading the bible. Val worked for 25 years at Soaring Eagle Casino.
     She is survived by her son Justin Mosher; daughter Jill and Gabriel DeLeon; grandchildren: Corban Buckner, Makayla (Jarrett) Monk, Landon Parshall, Madison Parshall, and Gavin (Sarah) DeLeon; great-grandchildren: Waylynn and Westynn; her brother Stan and Gail Spoor; her sister Vena Breithaupt; her sister Sandi Kelley; and many nieces and nephews. Val was preceded in death by her parents, her son Joseph Buckner, her sister Bobbie Buckner, her brother Royce Spoor, her brothers-in-law: Tom Kelley, Jim Breithaup, and RJ Buckner.
     A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
