     Treva Juanita Irving
     Okatie, SC- Treva Juanita Irving, age 96, died of natural causes on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Canterfield of Bluffton Assisted Living Home. She was born on May 21, 1928, in Cookeville, Tennessee, the daughter of Jesse Elmore Ford, and Bertha May (Clouse) Ford.
     Juanita attended school in Michigan. She married Buster Lee Irving, on December 20, 1947, in Hazel Park, Michigan, and settled in Royal Oak, Michigan, ultimately moving to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, to raise her five children. She met Lee on a blind date, where they went to a Harlem Globetrotters basketball game, and was married to Lee for 58 years, until his death in 2005. She and Lee, a successful doctor, lived in Michigan, until the summer of 1975, when they moved to Florida, where she lived until moving to South Carolina.
     In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Agnes, Glenna, and Willene, and her brothers: Bob and James, she is survived by one sister, Dorothy, her children: Walter Lee (Kathy) of Bluffton, SC; Michael Rae (Rose) of Rochester, MI; Susan Rae of Tampa, FL; Tommie Lee of Okatie, SC; and Toni Gail of Seminole, FL; along with 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
     Juanita loved to play golf with her husband and sons: Lee and Tom. She played into her 80’s, enjoying playing her son Lee, for money, winning many times. She had three holes in one, and did not shy away from telling you so, playing her last game of golf on her 90th birthday, with sons: Lee, Mike, and Tom from little league baseball to high school baseball and football. She also loved to sew, sewing for others who lived in the assisted living facilities, where she lived over the years. She was always looking for ways to help others.
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
