Thomas Daniel Johns

      Thomas Daniel "TJ" Johns, age 62, of Alma, MI, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at his home.
      A Memorial Service will be held at Community of Christ Church, 4860 North State Road, Alma, MI 48801, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor William Persall officiating.
     Thomas was born in Rockledge, FL on May 5, 1962, the son of Felton E. and Elvita (Johnson) Johns. He was a graduate of Merritt Island High School in Florida and later went on to college. He married Cheryl Eltzroth on September 11, 1993, in Carson City, MI. They met eight years prior under a full moon. TJ was a wonderful husband.
     He was a State Certified Master Mechanic and held a CDL license to drive truck. TJ loved NASCAR. He was a wrecker driver for Crystal Speedway. A favorite pastime was going for slow rides and looking for deer, he was an avid animal lover.
     He is survived by his wife Cheryl (Eltzroth) Johns of Alma, MI; son Michale and Michelle Smalley of Alma, MI; daughter Korisia Stump of Pewamo, MI; 5 grandchildren: Paige, Natiah, Dalton, Blake, and Victoria; 2 great-grandchildren: Macy and Ronnie; brother Felton and Shawn Johns, Jr., of Fountain, FL; sister Laura and Paul Gast of Florida. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Michael Stump, and mother-in-law Tressa Linder.
