Theodore was born in Alma, Michigan on April 2, 1972, the son of Theodore G. Courter and Esther Lynnie (Davidson) Morris. He graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1990. Ted proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He was a corrections officer in Jackson and St. Louis. His proudest role was being a stay-at-home Dad.

Ted was known to be over the top in everything he did. He loved his family. He was passionate about hosting family events and food: cooking, baking, smoking, and grilling! He was an avid part of the gaming community and had developed many long-term friendships. He enjoyed his many "projects" including woodworking, gardening, and farming. Ted cared deeply for all his children and taught them many life skills.  He spent many hours hunting with Tanner.

Ted was a courageous man with integrity and a big heart.

Ted had a reputation of being a jokester, pulling pranks and bringing humor into the darkest times of life. The family has created an email for family and friends to share their stories, pictures, videos - teddycourter@gmail.com. They look forward to hearing your memories!

Ted is survived by his mother Esther Morris, father Theodore Courter, 4 children: Audrey Hyndman, Amber (Molly Finstad) Courter, Monica Courter, and Tanner Courter; granddaughter Juniper Moon, and the mother of his children Julie Courter, sisters: Tammy (Randy) Warren, and Robin (Derrick) Walkington, and many nieces and nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by his step-father Homer Morris, grandparents: George and Bertha Davidson and Glen and Ruth Courter; 4 uncles: Donnie Courter, Bill Courter, Earl Davidson, and Maynard Strong; and cousin Billy Courter.
