Terri Ann Tomasek

     Terri Ann Tomasek, age 64, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Haven of Rest Hospice House, Owosso, MI.
      Terri was born in Carson City, Michigan on March 25, 1962, the daughter of Gerald Ray and Lillian Louise (Palek) Long. Terri married Brian Tomasek on October 13, 1986 in St. Johns, MI.
     Terri, a woman whose life was defined by devotion—to her family, her passions, and the simple joys that made each day meaningful—passed away surrounded by the love she so freely gave.
     From a young age, she found her heart in 4‑H and horses, discovering not only a lifelong passion but a sense of purpose. She had a remarkable talent for crafting her own riding gear, pouring creativity and care into every stitch. That same creativity showed up in her love for decorating, always making every space feel warm, welcoming, and unmistakably hers. In 1997, she and her husband Brian built their dream home, a place that became the heart of countless memories—holidays, celebrations, quiet mornings, and the laughter of grandchildren. She cherished time with her family above all else, especially her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She had the biggest heart that was adored and cherished by everyone who knew her. Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious. She was involved in cheer leading and track in her younger years, and later found joy in snowmobiling with friends and family, embracing adventure with the same spirit she brought to everything she did. She spent more than 20 years as a dental assistant, a career she approached with dedication, skill, and genuine compassion for the people she served. It was put best when her boss and friend, Terry Donahue said “She was the best assistant I ever had and was the first to always do what was right”.
     At home, she was happiest in the kitchen, cooking meals that brought her family together and filled the house with comfort. Her attention to detail was something to inspire as she perfected each meal, ensuring all would appreciate and enjoy it. She had a gift.
     She is survived by her husband, Brian Tomasek; her daughters Brianna (Rob) Hardaker, Abby Melling, and Brandi Tomasek; her grandchildren Beau, Bryer, Brennlee, Rosi, and ZayLeigh; her mother Lillian Long; her sister Deb (Jeff) Cords; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Terri was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Long, and her brother, Eric Long.
     Her legacy lives on in the family she adored, the passions she nurtured, and the love she shared so generously. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
