Susan Kay Helt

      Susan Kay Helt, age 71, of Elsie, MI, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
      Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 15, 2024, with Pastor JD Paik officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
      Susan was born on December 24, 1952, the daughter Julian Elery and Mary Lu (Swarthout) Perrien. She graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School with the class of 1971. On February 19, 1971, Susan married David James Helt Sr.; they were married twenty-two years prior to his passing. 
     Sue enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and University of Michigan Wolverines. She liked to play Euchre, Bingo, and Scratchers. 
      She is survived by three sons: David James (Polly) Helt Jr., Steven (Janae) Helt, and Mark (Melissa) Helt; ten grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death her parents, husband David, and her sister Diane Perrien.
