Susan Diane Hanselman Keehn, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, December 20th, at her home in Eaton Rapids. Sue was born September 12, 1952, in Ann Arbor to Mildred and Walter Hanselman. She graduated with the Class of 1970 from Whitmore Lake. On August 27, 2005, she married the love of her life, Larry Keehn. Sue was the proud mother of Matt McCoid, Joseph Vozar, and Julie Carman. Before retiring, she spent many years in Alma working for medical offices and with the Admitting Department of Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Gratiot. Family was very important to Sue and she loved spending time with them. Being a grandma and spoiling her grandchildren was the greatest joy of her life. Sue also loved shopping at craft shows, baking for her family, attending events for her grandchildren, and spoiling all her fur babies. She had a soft spot in her heart for all the dogs and cats she raised over the years.

Sue is survived by her husband, Larry Keehn of Eaton Rapids, son, Matt McCoid of New Orleans, son Joseph (Bethany) Vozar and their children Nora, M.J., and Judah of Ithaca, daughter Julie (Ronnie) Carman, and their children, Makayla, Cole, and Bryant of Ithaca, two brothers, Pete Karnes of Florida and John Karnes of West Virginia, and her former spouse Joel (Donna) Vozar of Ithaca. Sue is also survived by her husband’s children, whom she loved dearly, Mandy Keith and her children Logan and Dalton of Jackson, Brad (Jessica) Keehn and their children Becky, Dakota, and Craig of Jackson, Becky (Paul) Larmann and their child, Nickolas of Grand Ledge, James Ohmer and his children Genevieve and Ryleigh of Jackson, and one great-grandchild, Colson. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Walter Hanselman, a brother, Kenneth Karnes, and her in-laws, Joseph and Lillian Vozar.

The family is being served by Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. A Memorial Service will be held 11am Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Ithaca First Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Christina Jensen officiating. Visitation will take place from 10am until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gratiot County Animal Shelter.
