     Steven Lee Welch, age 74, of Perrinton, MI, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow, Lansing, Lansing, MI.
      A Celebration of his life will be held at Uncle John's Cider Mill, St. Johns, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
     Steven was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 28, 1952, the son of Harold Welch and Joyce Kennedy. Steve graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1971. He married Janet Wood on November 20, 1971, at the Ithaca Church of God in Ithaca, MI.
     Steve retired from Lear Corporation in Elsie. He could often be found tinkering in his garage, working on small engines, he was very mechanical and could fix anything. He will fondly be remembered as "Scrapper Steve". He enjoyed attending car shows with his son and watching football. Steve loved spending time with his dog, Bella and family.
      He is survived by his wife Janet Welch; children: Sharla Welch, Scott and Loretta Welch; his grandchildren: Brandon Welch and Andrea Smith, Ryan Welch and Constance Cole; his great-grandchildren Kaiser Welch & Kamdyn Welch; his siblings: Rose and Jeff Zatkoff, Helen and Dave Russell, Ed and JoAnne Welch, Harold Welch and sister-in-law Diane Deitrich. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Dimple Welch, siblings: Jerry Dale Welch, Terry Welch and sister-in-law Diane Welch.
