Stanley Michael Bernard

      Stanley Michael Bernard, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2024, while under the care of hospice and Ashley Care Center.

       Stanley was born on December 20, 1932, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, the son of the late John and Viola (Lavictor) Bernard.  He resided in Flint, MI, with his wife of 38 years, Alice who preceded him in death in 2008.

        He retired from General Motors Corporation and he was a U.S. Army Veteran.  After retirement he enjoyed camping and fishing with his family.  He always had a smile that would brighten anybody’s day!  Stanley was a person who gave out an abundance of hugs from the bottom of his heart.

       He is survived by his two daughters: Vickie (Robert) Hill of South Carolina; Marilyn (Duane) Moody of Georgia; and one daughter-in-law Virginia Bernard of Florida. Stanley is also survived by four siblings:  Anna, Robert, Reuban, Rosemarie and their spouse, all of whom live in Michigan; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, are still living as well.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son Stanley James “Jimmy” Bernard, one granddaughter Jennifer Turner, and sisters: Lois, Carlene, Violet, and Hazel.

       Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be held in the spring.
