Shirley Ann Gulick, age 78, of Evart, formerly of Ithaca, died Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Spectrum Hospital in Reed City.
Shirley was born November 11, 1935, in Detroit, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Johnson) Tripp. She married Lawrence Duane Gulick, who preceded her in death on September 4, 1998. Shirley enjoyed socializing with other people, spending time with others at Food With Friends, playing cards, especially Crazy Rummy, Bingo, and driving in her car. Anyone who knew her knew how much she loved the Lord, and how much her family meant to her.
Shirley is survived by her children, Elaine (Larry) Clark of Evart, Robert Gulick of Evart, Emma (Richard) Brandal of Ithaca, Norma (Lester) Peters of Holland, MI, Jerry (Nicole) Gulick of Florida, and Kila (Rod) Weaver of Zeeland; her daughter-in-law, Julie Becket of England; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, Margaret Joyce and Amy Jo; her son-in-law, Duane Rhoads; and her brothers and sisters, George Tripp, Jim Tripp, Mabel Gossett, Lillian, and Mary Barnett.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 6, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca, with Pastor Tom Doherty officiating. Interment will follow in Brant Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ithaca Senior Activity Building.
