Sharon Kay Martyn

     Sharon Kay Martyn, age 79, of Alma, MI, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center, Alma, MI.
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
     Sharon was born in Alma, Michigan on February 6, 1947, the daughter of Raymond and Hazel (Fair) Kunkel. Sharon graduated from Alma High School, with the class of 1966. Sharon married Raymond Martyn on October 15, 1966, at Salvation Army Church in Alma, MI.
     She worked many years at the Travel Lodge in Alma and retired from the Goody Barn. Sharon enjoyed creating diamond art. She will be remembered for her love of garden gnomes and butterflies. More than anything, time with family was most important to her.
     She is survived by her husband Raymond Martyn of Alma, MI; her children: Kim Martyn and Jeff Lingnau of Alma, MI; and Raymond and Robin Martyn of Alma, MI; her grandchildren: Rance Vance of Alma, MI; Samantha Markey of North Carolina, Raymond Martyn III of Alma, MI; and Amanda Martyn of Alma, MI; and her great-grandchildren: Elessia Vance, Leo Vance, Tobias Vance, Roy Markey, Luna Markey and Anya Markey. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Roger Kunkel.
