Scott was born in Carson City, MI on August 14, 1961. He was the son of Larry and Colleen (Sailor) Wetzel.

Scott was fun to be around, and a giving person. He loved to treat his friends, family, and neighbors to a good time. You could often find him enjoying a beer around the bonfire with his family, taking trips up north to the casino, or traveling around to classic rock concerts.

When he wasn't getting his kicks from the casino or scratch-off tickets, Scott found his thrills in going to local curbsides and dumpsters scrapping for precious metals in his truck lovingly nicknamed, "Rat Rod."

Although he wasn't fond of most animals, he had a special place in his heart for his cat, Bunny, and all the freshwater fish he looked after in his 120 gallon tank.

Scott had a creative side to him, and could change anything into a work of art. Scott will be remembered as a man of many talents, but mostly a beloved father, grandfather, and brother.

He is survived by his children: Jenna Wetzel (Chris Wood-Holdt) of Bloomfield, CT, Scott Wetzel Jr. (Emily Johnson) of Carson City, MI, Lori (Justin) Carman of Stanton, MI, Kourtney Wetzel of Alma, MI; grandchildren: Avery, Brayden, Mason, Skylar, and Anna and his best friend Roberto Davanzo. He is also survived by his siblings: Sheryl Roeder of Fremont, MI, Steve (Bonnie) Wetzel of St. Louis, MI, Syndee Schaffer of Alma, MI, and Larry Wetzel Jr. (Tina) of St. Louis, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents: Leona and Herman Deo Wetzel and Opal and Lyle Snyder, infant sister Dawn and nephew Shane Roberson.
