Sandra Lee Libbey

     Sandra “Sandy” Lee (Smith) Libbey, of Owosso, MI, passed away on October 21, 2025.
     A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, on Saturday November 8, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
     Sandra was born in St. Johns, Michigan on December 20, 1940, the daughter of Roger Rex and Josephine Marie (Roberts) Smith. She graduated from Ovid High School, with the class of 1959. She went on to work at various factories in the area before settling into her primary role as a homemaker.
     She was a very generous, compassionate person, and easily forgiving. Sandra was also known for her sense of humor, her big smile, and contagious laugh. She loved horseback riding, and owned many horses throughout her life. But her love was not limited to just horses; Sandra, loved all animals, especially cats, and chickens. Sandra enjoyed all kinds of music, and even played a little of her own on the steel guitar. Her grandkids were also her world, and took any opportunity to look after them.
     She is survived by her children: Jackie (Keith) Grubaugh, Harold (Tammy) Segur, Wayne (Tracie) Hertzer, and Jason Libbey; her grandchildren: Trisha (Jon) Turner, Jaclyn (Paul Gibson) Gilbert, Nichole (Corey) Grider, Zach Grubaugh, Eric Segur, Chris Segur, Kaleb Segur, Kirk Segur, Ellie Hertzer, Charles J. Hertzer, Meggan Libbey, and Mirranda Libbey; many great-grandchildren; her siblings: Jeanne (Don) Sudau, Maureen Roberts, Janet (Rodney) Tew, and Patti Hagan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Janean Marie Segur, and her husbands: Michael L. Libbey, and Charles G. Hertzer, her brother Richard Smith, and brother-in-law Edward Hagan.
