Sandra Mau Kimmel

      Sandra Mau "Sandy" Kimmel, age 78, of Brant, MI, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at her home.  Sandy was the heart of our home and family and has left an emptiness that cannot be replaced.
    A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 1-4 P.M. at the Marion Springs Gun Club 20390 W. Brant Road, Brant, MI 48614. 
    Sandra was born in Owosso, MI on April 17, 1946, the daughter of John and Edith (Robinson) Phelps.  She was a graduate of Elsie High School with the Class of 1964.
     Sandy was a member of the Red Hat Society.  She enjoyed gardening, canning and putting puzzles together.  Sandy was talented in making arts and crafts.   In 2006, Sandy retired from Lear Corporation in Elsie.  Spending time with her family and pets (Daisy and Carmy) brought her the greatest joy. Sandy lived her life with laughter, kindness and understanding and was always willing to lend a hand.  
    She is survived by daughter Kim Mau and Diane Husted of Brant, MI; daughter Ronda Mau and David Brcik of Brant, MI; her treasured grandson that she helped raise Paul Mau and Alivia Sly of Oakley, MI; grandchildren: Cass Bongard, Justin Kimmel; Josh Kimmel; Anna Kimmel; great-grandchildren: Lily and Waylon; brother Arthur Phelps of Florida; sisters-in-law: Ruth Malek of Ashley, MI; Sharilyn Chilcoat of Ithaca, MI; Rosemary Bancroft of Ithaca, MI; Judy Kimmel of Ithaca, MI; Nina Phelps of Ovid, MI; brother-in-law Alton Bigelow, of St. Johns, MI. Sandy is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and step-children.  Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s: Ronald Mau and Lester Kimmel, her brother John Phelps and sister-in-law Wanetta Bigelow also her brothers-in-law.
