Ruth Lucille Pasch

     Ruth Lucille Pasch, age 89, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026, at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow, Lansing, MI.
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Mark McCormick officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 2-8 P.M. and again, Friday, September 18, 2026, from 2-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
     Ruth was born in St. Johns, MI, the daughter of Herman and Dorothy (Luecht) Pasch. Ruth graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School, as the salutatorian of her class. She went onto attend, Davenport University, Lansing Community College, and Central Michigan University. Ruth owned a certified public accounting office, Ruth L. Nihart, PC in St. Johns for forty years.
     Ruth was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church in Lansing, MI, where she served as Moderator and Treasurer. She served on the Bylaw Committee, where she never missed a meeting and spent countless hours in service to the church. She also served in several other capacities, utilizing her Stephen Ministry training to support and serve others. Ruth encouraged others to use their gifts in service to God and the church.
     Ruth was the first woman president of Independent Accountants Association of Michigan from 1984-1985, Independent Accountants Association of Michigan accountant of the year, in 1986, and chair of Independent Accountants Association of Michigan State Affairs and State Government Liaison committees. She taught classes for enrollees to prepare for the Internal Revenue Service’s enrolled agent examination, and she taught tax classes at Lansing Community College. She was a Dale Carnegie graduate, and Dale Carnegie graduate assistant, she was a delegate to Michigan Conference on Small Business, Michigan certified public accountant in 1985, and she was a member of Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. She was listed in Who’s Who in the Midwest-22nd Edition – 1990-1991, she was also listed in the Who’s Who of the American Women – 17th Edition – 1991-1992, and was listed in National Register Who’s Who in Executive and Professionals – 2000 Millennium Edition.
      Ruth was an active member of American Legion Auxiliary, Clinton County Historical Society, and Co-Chair of City of St. Johns Sesquicential – 2006.
     Summary of what was most important to me in my life: My FAITH that my God was always beside me, guiding my steps and ready to forgive me when I strayed from His ways. My FAMILY that always supported me and loved me in my life, even when they watched me make bad choices. HISTORY of all kinds, family, local, state, national, and international.
     She is survived by her two daughters: Bonnie (Roger) Gregory and Rachel (Gary) Gehres; her six grandchildren: Levi Gregory, Trevor (Cassandra Herrick) Gregory, Garrett (Jessica) Gregory, Madrid (Terrance) Law, Damion Gehres, and Phoenix Gehres; her great-grandchildren: Veda Gregory, Dane Swanchara, Trey Swanchara-Gregory, Maxx Swanchara-Gregory, Winston Gregory, Lachlan Law, Fraser Law, and Daclan Law; and one great-great-grandchild, Adiline Gregory. She is also survived by her sister Jeanette Page, niece and nephews: Patricia (Anthony) O’Callaghan, Rodney (Judy) Pasch, Darren (Michelle) Pasch, and their families; as well as many cousins and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Frederick Pasch, sister-in-law Donna (Britten) Pasch, nephew Randy Pasch, and niece Lori Pasch.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice, Clinton County Historical Society, or Mayflower Congregational Church in Lansing, MI.
