Russell B. Westbrook I, age 86, died on April 19, 2013 in Flint, MI. He was born in Ionia, MI, on October 3, 1926, the son of Rosell and Lavern (Ream) Westbrook. He married Dorna Hoover on December 11, 1947 in Luther, MI, and she preceded him in death on August 12, 2009 after sharing 62 years together. Russell was a member of the United Church of Ovid and the VFW Post #5065.

Surviving him are children, Dawne (Herbert) Hicks of College Station, TX, Nadeleen Hill of Haslett, Dianna (Butch) Frank of Williamston, Russell B. (Angel) Westbrook of Perry, Ira (Joni) Westbrook of Owosso, Timothy Westbrook and Doran (Debby) Westbrook of Carson City, 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, brother, James Westbrook, two sisters, Gladys (Don Robbins) Moore, Violet Flynn, 2 sisters in law, Garnet (Martin) Levandoski and Linda Hoover, and brother in law, Norris (Neva) Hoover.

A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2013 at the United Church of Ovid, with Pastor Greg Buchner officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church prior to the service from 10:30 - 12:00 p.m. Military Services provided by VFW Post #5065.

Contributions may be made in memory of Russell to the United Church of Ovid or VFW Post #5065. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Home.
