Roy H. Mizer, age 85, of Breckenridge, MI for the last 56 years, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011 in his home with his wife Jane by his side, as well as his children.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Louis Church of Christ, St. Louis, MI on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate. Burial will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Breckenridge, MI, following services and a luncheon at the church. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel and one hour prior to services at the church.

Roy was born in St. Louis, Michigan on June 23, 1925, the son of Christoper Ray and Hazel (Swartz) Mizer. Roy married Jane M. Perrigo on February 14, 1946 in St. Louis, MI. Roy battled with lung cancer for many years yet fought to live life up to the end. He loved family time, playing cards, and enjoyed people in general. He was very quick witted and liked to make you smile or think! Roy was a hard working and dedicated man. He enjoyed farming before having carpentry as a trade. Roy retired from the City of St. Louis Public Works before working at the Alma Wal-Mart.

He is survived by his wife Jane Mizer of Breckenridge, MI, daughter Jeanette Wolgast and Jim Thayer of Breckenridge, MI, daughter Margaret and Art White of St. Louis, MI, daughter Diane and Terry Juhas of St. Johns, MI, daughter Linda and Barry Decker of New Baltimore, MI, son Michael Mizer of Crosswell, MI, daughter Karen and Larry Moe of Midland, MI, daughter Bonnie and Jon Wolfgang of Wheeler, MI, son Patrick and Kelli Mizer of Belleville, MI, and son Jeffrey Mizer of Cedar Springs, MI. This large family also includes 25 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kathleen Greene in October 2010, and great grandson Jordan Brecht in 1993, brothers; George, Art, Jerry, and sisters; Viola and Marian.
