Rose Kienitz

Rose T. Kienitz, age 82, of Ithaca, MI passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at Davis Hospice Center, Cheyenne, WY.

Memorial Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will take place at the Marion Springs Township Cemetery, Marion Springs, MI.

Rose was born in Saginaw, Michigan on June 1, 1930, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Frasle) Gedraitis. On September 30, 1950, Rose married Kenneth Kienitz in Saginaw, MI; Ken passed away on January 2, 1994. Rose resided most of her life in Ithaca. She enjoyed making cakes for wedding and special occasions. She traveled to Germany twice and Israel with the Marv Herzog Band. She also gathered the family records, tracking our family back to our German roots and was a part of the Genealogy Society in Ithaca. Rose inventoried and recorded the cemetery records for the Ithaca cemetery. She was an active member at the Senior Center and Commission on Aging in Ithaca and volunteered for several functions over the past twenty years. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends at the Senior Center. Of course her daily visit to Cornel for lunch.

She is survived by son Chris Kienitz and wife Kathleen, her sister Lorraine Fodo of Bay City, and 2 brothers; Sonny Gedraitis, his wife Carol and Coke Gedraitis, his wife Janet of Saginaw.
