Ronald George "Ron" Schultz, age 72, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at his home.

In following Ron's wishes, a cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at the Carson City American Legion Post #380.

Ron was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on July 25, 1951, the son of Russell J. and Iola Eleanor (Reyburn) Schultz. He graduated from Carson City High School in 1969 and served as a Company Clerk for the United States Army from 1970-1972 in Fort Knox, KY.

Ron married Constance Ann Tabor on April 29, 1972. They enjoyed 51 years of constant unspoken, unwavering love and she survives him. He is survived by his son Jeremy “Jake” Schultz of Lansing, Michigan and his daughter Jennifer (Justin) Larrison, and their children: Kane Larrison, Mason Larrison, Kennedy Larrison, Reed Larrison and Cohen Larrison; all of St. Johns, Michigan.

Ron and Connie started their married life in Carson City, Michigan where he worked for Mills Roofing followed by Central Michigan Lumber. This led them to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan before finally relocating to St. Johns, Michigan in 1987 where they have resided ever since. Gaining many lifelong friendships throughout his career, he was constantly called upon to lend his expertise and skilled hands to help friends and family build something. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 380 in Carson City, Michigan where he was always involved. Throughout the years he enjoyed playing softball, any type of card game, bowling leagues, golfing and traveling, including many special trips to Ireland.

Ron was known for his hard work, hearty laugh, big smile and old school ways. He had a passion for maintaining and caring for his pristine yard where he enjoyed entertaining guests on the Gazebo. Often a man of few words and limited emotion, nothing brought out his soft side quite like the birth of his grandchildren. He adored and doted on them and being their “Pop” was the best role he’d ever had.

Ron was also survived by his mother-in-law Velma Tabor, sister Daryl Hunt, brother Bob Schultz, brother Jim (Diane) Schultz, nieces: Lori (Chris) Richmond and Amy (Kelly Frost) Schultz; sister-in-law Pam Tabor, brother-in-law Mark (Betty) Tabor, brother-in-law Troy (Andrea) Tabor, nephew Ted Tabor, and many special co-workers, neighbors and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his father Russell Schultz, mother Iola Schultz-McMinn, father-in-law Edgar Tabor, and his brother Terry Morgan.
