Ronald Earl Norris, 80, of Stanton, formerly of Lansing, went to live with his Lord and Savior under the loving care of his daughter and son in law, Ronda and David Norris and surrounded by his loved ones.
Ronald was born August 13, 1936 in Aurelius Center, Michigan to parents Iven P. and Mary Ellen (Purcell) Norris. On February 14, 1970, Ronald married the love of his life, Beulah M (Jones), who preceded him in death in 2008. He is also preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers and sisters Daniel, David, Lucy, Roy, Oma, Don, Duane, Leo, John and June Ellen, as well as his daughter, Kimberly.
He is survived by a brother, Iven (Jan) Norris of Leslie, and sister in law Sue Ohlinger; children Mike (Jackie) Allred of Crystal, Monte (Brenda) Allred of Greenville, Ronda (David) Norris of Stanton, Zach Norris of St. Louis and Melissa Norris of Potterville; grandchildren Danny, Toby (Rachel), Maranda (Vern), Chris (Brandy), Mary Jean (Kevin), Ronald (Kamie), Sara (Jon), and Tiffany; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Ronald was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved anything to do with the outdoors. He was always tinkering on something. He and Beulah's love was collecting Heisey glass and antiques. Ronald worked several jobs throughout his life, but later found his niche and retired from the Michigan Department of Transportation after more than 20 years of service. He also loved volunteering with the gleaners at the Michigan State University farms in Lansing.
There will be a visitation Monday, January 2, 2017 from 3 to 5pm at Barden Funeral Home in Stanton. A second visitation will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Greenville from 10 to 11am, Tuesday, January 3, 2017, with services at 11:00. Internment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Aurelius MI.
