Ronald Lee Brunner, age 82, of Maple Rapids, Michigan, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at Maple Rapids Congregational Church, Maple Rapids, MI, ar 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026, with Pastor Jerry Kissling officiating. Burial will take place at Sowle Cemetery, Essex Twp., MI. at a later date. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service, ar the church.
Ronald was born May 9, 1944, in St. Johns, Michigan, the son of Albert Edwin and Bernice (Gantz) Brunner. He graduated from Fulton High School with the Class of 1963. On July 23, 1966, he married Leslie Kay Warren, who preceded him in death on May 10, 2019.
Ron worked for Motor Wheel for 31 years before retiring. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Maple Rapids Fire Department for several years. Following retirement, he continued giving back by working for the Village of Maple Rapids for many years. Ron loved talking about Maple Rapids and took great pride in the community he cherished.
Ron enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He looked forward to traveling to Drummond Island twice each year with his parents and family. He coached baseball for many years and was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends. Above all, his grandchildren meant the world to him and brought him great joy.
He is survived by his children: Michael Brunner; Toby (Kristin) Brunner; and Tosha (Rodney) Gillespie; grandchildren: Hunter, Kaleb, Jacob, Caden, Briella, and Camden; and his sister, Mary (Warren) Moeggenberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Leslie, and his brother, Jim.
