Roger E. Hudson

     Roger E. Hudson, age 88, passed into eternity on February 21, 2023, at Faith Hospice in Byron Center, Michigan. He died peacefully surrounded by his family.

     A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

     Roger was born to Ernest and Hazel Hudson in Alma, Michigan. He graduated from Alma High School in 1952. He also served our country in the U.S. Army with training at Fort Knox followed by time stationed in Germany. Roger worked at Total Petroleum in Alma for forty-one years and then retired at age 60. That early retirement allowed him, along with his wife, Lillian, to build many special memories as they traveled and spent time with family and friends.

     Roger married Lillian E. Porter on December 19, 1953, at Auburn United Methodist Church in Auburn, Michigan. Together they built a life with a foundation of consistency and love. This foundation equipped them to serve in various ways through their church, Ithaca Baptist, and for organizations including Gleaners and Good Sam’s Club.

     He is survived by his children: Scott, Lynda (Terry) Feichtenbiner, Amy (Dan) Kallman and daughter-in-law, Sue. His nine grandchildren: Paul (Jessica) Hudson, Timothy (Helena) Hudson, Sarah (Eric) Condron, Heidi (Seth) Snyder, Allie (Ben) Vaught, Leah Hudson, Hannah Borman (Justin), Hayden Moore (Lilly) and Hadley Moore (Bri) as well as a passel of nineteen great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Sharon (Allan) Hooper of Linwood, MI.  His wife, Lillian, preceded him in death as well as his Son, Stephen; sister, Marge (Alex) McAllister; brother, Bob (Helen) Hudson, and brother-in-law, Allan Hooper.
