Rodrick M. Smith, age 65, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Louis VFW, on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 12:00-4:00 P.M. with military honors being presented at 1:00 P.M. at the hall.
Rodrick was born in West Branch, MI on July 24, 1960, the son of Ronwick and Annette (Gotham) Smith. Rodrick married Teresa Billiau on March 4, 1985, in El Paso, Texas. Rodrick proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Rodrick like to play games, especially on his PS4. He loved listening to music and drinking beer. In his younger days he liked to work on cars with his brother, Rick. Rodrick was an avid University of Michigan football fan. Spending time with his family was very important to him and brought him great joy. Rodrick loved the time he had with his 16 grandchildren and 3 great-granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife Teresa Smith of St. Louis, MI; daughter Lynn and Jeremiah Miller of Sumner, MI; son Robwrick Smith of St. Louis, MI; son Christopher Smith of St. Louis, MI; daughter Matasha and Jason Homister of Mt. Pleasant, MI; 16 grandchildren: Mashaela, Kaitlynn, Blake (Jada), Chelsea, Haylee, Jozlyne, Kyleigh, Justyne, Savannah, Jonathon, Sharon, Abrianna, Jaice, Keagan, Jaxyn, and Kiara; 3 great-granddaughters: Hastlynn, Kimberly, and Lakelin; brother Normal Smith of Shepherd, MI; 3 sisters: Ronda and Denny Lapaugh of Elm Hall, MI; Wenda Firman of St. Louis, MI; Glenda and Kevin Johnson of St. Louis, MI; and two sisters-in-law: Tina Smith of Mt. Pleasant, MI; and Noreen Smith of Wheeler, MI. Rodrick is also survived by many nieces and nephews; as well as his dogs: Elsa and Samantha. Rodrick was preceded in death by his parents, 3 grandchildren, his brother Ricky Smith, brother Gary Smith, brother-in-law Victor Firman, sister-in-law Donna Smith, his dogs: Sandy and Suzie.
