Richard Carl Whaley

     Richard Carl Whaley, age 88, of Elsie, Michigan, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2026, at his home.
     A Graveside Service will be held at Ridge Road Cemetery, Brady Twp., MI, 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 28, 2026.
     Richard was born in Chesaning, Michigan, on November 23, 1937, the son of Carl and Marie (Malek) Whaley. He graduated from Chesaning High School with the Class of 1955. Richard married Carol Lee Bates, on November 4, 1960, in Chesaning, Michigan; and were blessed with 57 years of marriage, before her passing on August 20, 2018.
     Richard proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a farmer, builder, and a talented fix-it man who could repair and build just about anything.
     He is survived by his children: Richard C. Whaley; and Clara and Eddie Quintanilla; his grandchildren: Erasmo Quintanilla and Joseph Quintanilla; his brother David and Ruth Whaley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Marie Whaley; his wife, Carol; and his daughter, Christine.
