Richard “Rick” James Teed Ii

Richard Teed, age 51, of Sumner passed away Friday, August 3, 2012.

Rick was born May 5, 1961 to Richard James and Anne Lorraine (Whittaker) Teed in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.  He loved to bowl and enjoyed golf. He also loved to garden anything to be outside. Rick was always trying to fix things and enjoyed tinkering with things to see if he could get them working. He enjoyed collecting M&M dispensers and sports cards. But most of all he loved his two sons, Caleb J. Teed and Todd J. Teed.

Rick is survived by his wife Jean and their two sons Caleb J. Teed and Todd J Teed; his beloved sisters Debbie (Don) Cole of Perry, Barbara (Craig) Lee of Perry, Sandra (Dennis) Pavlica of Ithaca, Mary (Charlie) Teed-Cortez of Norcross, Georgia; his brother Douglas (Stephanie) Teed of Mt. Pleasant; his three uncles Eugene Whittaker of Florida, LaVern Teed of Nebraska, and David (Sue) Teed of Alma; and his aunt Nancy Edwards. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, 13 great nephews, seven great nieces, and many cousins. He is also survived by his father-in-law Darwin J. Whitman of Ithaca; his mother-in-law Vicky Whitman of Ithaca; brother-in-law Darwin E. (Morgan) Whitman of Ithaca; and sister-in-law Darci (Bradley) Whitman of Ithaca.  He is preceded in death by his father Richard James Teed, his mother Anne Lorraine Teed, and his brother Todd Teed.

Rick donated his eyes to help another person to see. He was an amazing man and the love of of his wife Jean’s life.

The will be visitation for Rick on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from noon until 8pm at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca.
