Retha Ann (Jones) Bancroft

     Retha Ann Bancroft, age 80, of Ovid died November 27, 2022, at Grace Haven Assisted Living, St. Johns, MI.

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI, on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. with Mr. Thomas Bradley officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, Michigan.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.

      Retha was born on December 26, 1941 in Owosso, MI to Richard and Marie (Moore) Jones.  She graduated from Ovid High School with the class of 1960.   Retha married Richard Bancroft on June 11, 1960, at her family’s home in Ovid and celebrated sixty years together before his passing on January 18, 2021.  Retha enjoyed crocheting, bowling, gardening, casino trips and being outdoors.

     She is survived by her three children: Rick and Sue Bancroft of Lake Odessa, MI; Debbie and Mark Williams of Haslett, MI; Sue and Mark Horak of Elsie, MI; her grandchildren: Brooke and Ivan Harlow, Alexander and Jennifer Williams, Mychael Horak and Jeff Hickey, Marques and Erika Horak, Macauley Horak and Evan McPherson, Matthew Horak and Michaela Dowling, Ryan Bancroft, Ericka Williams and Jake Holscher, Madalyn Horak, Sarah Bancroft, and Maverick Horak; five great-grandchildren: Roy and Rylan Harlow, Kalen and Logan Williams, and Cooper Horak.  She is also survived by her sister Ruth Coffman, sister-in-law Kay & Bob Gladstone and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her sisters: Rita Cannon and Diana Crandall, brothers: Dan, Jim and Jerry Jones and an infant son.

     The family would like to thank the staff at Memorial Healthcare Hospital, Grace Haven Assisted Living Facility, CorsoCare Hospice and Marva Van Pelt for all of your care and support.
