Phillip Albert Patrick

     Phillip Albert “Phil” Patrick, age 67, of Ovid, MI, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
     A Celebration of Life will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the funeral home.
     Phil was born in Lansing, MI on March 19, 1959, the son of William Albert Patrick and Shirley Jean (Millis) Patrick. He graduated from Harry Hill High School with the class of 1977. He married Nancy A. Green, on November 1, 1980, in Owosso, MI. They were blessed with twenty-eight years of marriage, prior to her passing on November 17, 2008.
     After his retirement from Fisher Body, Phil became skilled in taxidermy. He took pride in his work and cherished the friendships he made along the way.
     Phil was a man of many titles, including son, brother, husband, and father, but his most cherished role was Grandpa “Bumpa”. He loved his family dearly, but he loved his grandkids fiercely. He could never tell them no, never let them leave hungry, and never let them leave the porch without someone yelling “who loves ya, baby?”
     In his earlier life, he had a passion for the outdoors and taught his sons everything he knew. Once his grandkids were born, his hobbies transitioned into cooking, baking, sharing recipes with special friends and family, and “just sitting on the couch, relaxing.” Family often gathered at Phil’s, whether it be for a pool party or a family dinner; he always made sure nobody went home hungry or without bags of leftovers.
     He will be missed by many. His family is comforted knowing that he passed peacefully, and was greeted by many loved ones, including his wife Nancy, and their beloved dog, Clara Belle.
     Phil is survived by his children: Jacob (Melissa) Patrick, and Nicolas (Kali) Patrick; his grandchildren: Charlie Patrick, Brady Patrick, Samuel Patrick, and Madilyn Patrick; his siblings: Gregory (Jamie) Patrick and Tammie (Jeff) Brand; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Patrick; his parents William and Shirley Patrick; and his sister Denise Patrick.
