Pauline Marie Merchant

Pauline M. Merchant, age 80, of Ithaca passed away April 2, 2015 at Gratiot Medical Center.

Pauline was born August 24, 1934 and adopted by James and Frances Frump. She married Larry Merchant June 14, 1953. He preceded her in death in August of 1995.

Pauline is survived by her children, Doug (Mary) Merchant, David (Deb Jones) Merchant, DeAnna (Edward) Taylor; grandchildren, Josh (Carrie) Merchant, Justin Merchant, Jared (Marci) Merchant, Joel (Holly) Merchant, John (Sara) Merchant, Megan (Paul) Petrella, Anthony Taylor, Amiee Taylor; great grandchildren, Elijah, Griffin, Harper, Greyson, Ellison, Irelynn, Brantley, McKenzie, and Peyton. She is also survived by her companion Dennis Cooper and his children, Doug Cooper, Daryl Cooper, Debbie Komperda and D.J. Krum. Also surviving are her sister Barb Lynch, brother-in-law Levi Gager, brother-in-law Robert (Sharon) Merchant, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, James and Frances Frump; in-laws, Dale and Opal Merchant; Sister Bonnie Gager; and brother-in-law Wayne Merchant.

Funeral services for Pauline will be 11am Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Ithaca United Methodist Church. Pastor David McBride will officiate and burial will follow at Ithaca Cemetery. Visitation will be Noon to 8pm, Monday April 6,  at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, 100 Women Who Care, or to a charitable organization of your choice.
