Orville Cody

Orville Wayne Cody, 68, of Alma, MI, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI,  Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 1:00 P.M.  with Dr. Keith Wise officiating. Visitation will be held 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Friday, June 4, 2021 at the funeral home.

Orville was born in Harlan, KY on January 26, 1953, the son of William and Dessie (Napier) Cody. He graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1971 and resided most of his life in the Alma area.

On October 11, 1975, Orville married Debra Dawn Smith in St. Louis, MI. They were blessed with 45 years of marriage prior to his passing.

Orville lived in his garage working on tractors. He was a jack-of-all-trades and knew how to do about everything. He was a friend to all and loved by all who knew him. Orville was always ready to give the shirt off his back to someone in need or to help them in any way possible.

Orville is survived by his wife Debra, daughter Charity Cody and Matt Eyers of Ithaca, and daughter Brandy and Chad Carman of Ithaca. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Emily and Cory Seeley, Devin Cody, Stephanie and Pat Burns, Brooke Carman and Travis Carman; 5 great grandchildren: Weston, Bentley, Jacobi, Deliliah, and Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marie, and his wife's parents: Robert and Shirley Smith.
