Opal Weaver

Opal was born September 15, 1918, in Ashley, the daughter of Robert and  Bertha (Bowers) Kerr. She was the youngest of nine children. She married Harold Weaver on June 19, 1935, and together they raised their two children, Shirley and Jerry. She loved to be outside tending her flower garden, feeding the birds, spending time with her husband, and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Opal is survived by her daughter, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and one daughter-in-law. She was preceded in death by her son, her husband, her eight brothers and sisters, and her parents.

Funeral services will be 11am Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca with Pastor Debbie Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in North Star Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 10am to 11am.
