Oneta Jean Rogers, age 87, of DeWitt, MI, (formerly of St. Louis, MI) went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 24, 2022 surrounded by her family at home. Oneta was born in Alma, MI on February 20, 1934, the daughter of Gene and Ruth O. (Furlong) Edwards. She attended Alma Public Schools and participated in the Spanish Club and played the French-horn in the Alma High School Band. Oneta married Richard Dale Rogers on January 3, 1951. She loved dancing, crocheting, bird watching, gardening, playing games, socializing and rides in her power chair. She attended Liberty Baptist Church in Alma, MI. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma who cherished her family. She is survived by her seven children: Terry Rogers of Alma, MI; Dixie Hollenbeck (Jerry) of St. Louis, MI; Penny Fahrner of DeWitt, MI; Cynde Rogers of DeWitt, MI; Karen Collins (Bobby) of Chattanooga, TN; Brenda Munson (Mike) of DeWitt, MI; and Bryon Rogers of Greenville, MI; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1great- great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Rogers, her parents, a grandson Jeremy Rogers, a granddaughter Heather Parks, and her sister, Sondra. Cremation has taken place and a family memorial gathering will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pol Veterinary Services, 3959 West Jordan Road, Weidman, MI 48893.
