Oliver James Dettloff

     Oliver James Dettloff, age six and a half months, of Pompeii, MI, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI surrounded by his family and his angels.

     Funeral Services will be held at Rock Lake Bible Methodist Church, 8227 Pine Grove Road, Vestaburg, MI 48891, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, with Pastor Titus Byer and Pastor Blake Jones officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, and also on Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.

     Oliver was born in Lansing, Michigan on March 9, 2023, the son of Aaron Matthew and Jaimie Rose (Chaffin) Dettloff. Oliver loved his head rubs, hand holding, snuggles, lovies and blankets. He was happy when his family visited him and would always open his eyes to see them. Although he was here a short time, he touched the lives of many and was loved by everyone.

     He is survived by his parents Aaron and Jaimie Dettloff of Pompeii, MI; siblings: Landon Dettloff, Makayla Earegood, McKenzie Dettloff, Anastasia Dettloff, Audrey Dettloff, and Lillian Dettloff; grandparents: Ronald and Melissa Dettloff, and Jim and Amy Chaffin; great-grandparents: Steve Derby, Joan Derby, and Violet Cass; and great aunt Esther Cass.   He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: David and June Chaffin and great-grandpa Jerry Cass.
