     Norman William Nixon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, at the age of 90.
     He was born on June 21st, 1934, to Pauline and Jacob Nixon in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Norman graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1953, and shortly thereafter served his country in the United States Army, stationed in France in 1954. Following his military service, Norman began his career at Dow Chemical in September 1954, where he dedicated himself to his work for over three decades, retiring with incentive on January 1, 1986.
     On July 17, 1955, Norman married Marilyn Ann Vliet with whom he shared 43 years of cherished memories until her passing. In December 2002, Norman found love again and married Shirley Vest Roller from Platte City, Missouri, with whom he enjoyed nearly 22 happy years.
     Norman is survived by his children: Michael (Lori) Nixon, and Karen (Mark) Roslund. He was a proud grandfather to Ryan, Jake, Brad, Brent, Nick, and Travis. He enjoyed spending time with his six grandchildren and was blessed to also have eight great-grandchildren.
     Norman had a passion for many hobbies throughout his life. He found comfort in the pages of books, enjoying literature across various genres. He was also an avid movie enthusiast, enjoying both classics and modern films. Norman loved listening to music.
     In his workshop, Norman showcased his talent for woodworking, creating beautiful pieces that will be treasured by his loved ones for generations to come. When he wasn't crafting in his workshop, Norman could often be found enjoying a game of pool with friends or engaging in lively card games with his family, where his competitive spirit and his constant rules changing always made for an enjoyable time.
     A private memorial will be held to celebrate Norman’s life.
     Norman’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
