Neil Richard Mead

     Neil Richard Mead, age 64, of Bannister, MI, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Clinton, St. Johns, MI. 

    Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life at his home at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

    Neil was born in St. Johns, Michigan on January 11, 1960, the son of Orlo and Patricia (Saxton) Mead. He graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School with the class of 1979.

    Neil worked as a wash plant operator for Constine Gravel Company for 15 years and had 18 years with a union gravel pit. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sitting on his back porch jamming to music. Neil was very interested in rock and artifact hunting, fishing, and hunting. Above all, Neil loved the time he spent with his family.  

    He is survived by his children: Tricia and Ben Moreno; and Tim and Holly Mead; his grandchildren: Jolie, Ethan, Leon, Liam, Ryan, Waylon, and Emma, his sister Vicki and Troy Delcamp, and his brother Brad and Carla Mead.  He was preceded in death by his father Orlo Mead, mother and step-father Patricia and William Machala, and brothers: Chris and Greg Mead.
