Michael Leon Zimmerman

Michael L. Zimmerman, age 57, of Ashley, died Friday, November 2, 2018, at Sparrow Carson City Hospital.

Michael was born in Carson City on September 14, 1961, the son of Miles C. and Grace Ellen (Garrett) Zimmerman.  He married Ellen L. Kimmel on October 29, 1990 in Las Vegas.  He loved driving truck, his garage, and being outdoors camping, hunting, fishing and going to the lake with Ellen and the boat.  He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.  He was also a big NASCAR fan.

Michael is survived by his wife, Ellen; his children, Grace (Matthew Brzak) Zimmerman and Jonathan M. (Bailey Steiss) Zimmerman, both of Ashley; his grandchildren, Logan Brzak and Natalie Brzak; his brother and sisters, Beverly (Joseph) Mallek of Merrill, Joan (Charles) Geller of Casa Grande, AZ., Diane (Rich) Chapko of St. Johns, and Marshall (Lisa Snyder) Zimmerman of Sheridan; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Richard and Berneda Shattuck of Ashley.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Grace Zimmerman, and his sister, Barbara Surian.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 5, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca.  Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday, November 4 at Barden Funeral Home. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.bardenfuneralhome.com.
