Michael Donald Rice

     Michael "Mike" Donald Rice, age 68, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, at his home.
     Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 11:00-11:50 A.M. The visitation will be followed with a procession to Mt. Rest Cemetery (706 East Steel Street, St. Johns, MI) for a graveside service at 12:00 P.M. Following the graveside service there will be a luncheon at the St. Johns VFW Hall.
     Mike was born in St. Johns, MI on October 24, 1956, the son of Donald Calvin and Gladys Magdeline (Witgen) Rice. He graduated from St. Johns High School with the class of 1975. Mike married Pamela Kim (Rings) on June 4, 2001, in Toledo, OH. Pam passed away on June 19, 2025.
     Mike worked many years for the St. Johns Public school in their maintenance department. Later on, he went into construction and worked for various companies. Mike enjoyed hunting, vintage cars, boating, and water sports. He was a member of the Carpenters Union. Mike loved being in the comfort of his home, and spending time with the love of his life, Pam.
     He is survived by his daughter Kassandra Rose Rice; his step-children: Kelly (Michael) Moore, James (Julie) Ritter, Matthew Ritter (Jennifer Griffith), and Melissa Ritter (Joey Gephart), his sister Cheryl (Gary) Onstad, his nephew Eric Onstad and his niece Chelsea Onstad. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Donald C. and Gladys Rice and his wife Pam.
