Michael Maurice Smith

Michael M. Smith, age 69, of Ashley, died Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Ashley Care Center.

Mike was born in Alma on February 6, 1946, the son of Maurice Laverne and Betty (Parks) Smith.  He married Dawn Marie DeLong on February 8, 1975, in St. Louis.  He worked as a roofer with his father, and then for several years owned and operated Round Up North, Round Up Lounge, and Ma and Pa’s Diner.  He loved going fishing in his spare time, and especially enjoyed ice fishing and blue gill fishing.

Mike is survived by his wife, Dawn; his mother, Betty (Parks) Smith; his sons, Tim Smith of Ithaca, Dan Delong of Alma, and Cory (Wendy) Smith of Alma; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his brother, Greg (Margaret) Smith of Ithaca; and his sister, Betty Coffin of Alma.  He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Smith, and his grandson, Nathan Smith.
