February 23, 1950 — March 3, 2026

St. Johns

Michael McGunn Magley, age 76, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Church, Lansing, MI, on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:00 A.M.
Michael was born in Elmira, NY on February 23, 1950, the son of Louis Magley and Rosetta (McGunn) Magley. He graduated from Haslett High School, with the class of 1968. Michael played many sports throughout his high school career, including basketball, baseball, and football. In 1992, Michael met the love of his life at the Silver Dollar, and on April 17, 1999, he married her. Michael and Karen (Benjamin) Magley got married in their home in Haslett, MI, and spent almost 27 years together.
Mike worked at General Motors for 29 years. Last 10 years at the Craft Center as a Craftsman. Mike loved GM and could tell you the history of GM way back to the days of Oldsmobile.
He was very proud to be a GM employee. Michael enjoyed his own company, and loved to laugh (mainly at his own jokes). He found comfort in his regular trips to the corner store buying lottery tickets, and found thrills in his trips to the casinos. Chocolate and pasta were the quickest way to win Michael's heart, and could never turn down Karen's homemade lasagna or chocolate cream pies. His grandkids will fondly remember the odd concoctions he made in the kitchen, including mayonnaise and peanut butter sandwiches.
He is survived by his wife Karen; Karen’s daughters: Aimee Beltran, and Paula (JM) Ogston-Nobile; his grandchildren: Jofre Beltran, Braeden Beltran, and Aubrey Beltran, Ian Beltran, Charley Nobile, and Rowan Nobile; his sisters: Linda (Jim) Wight, Darlene Robinson, and Debi (Stan) Freund; his brothers-in-law: Chuck Benjamin, and Dennis (Sam) Benjamin; his friends: Kelly and Sivi Sivaraj from Heart's Content Assisted Living; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Gary Magley.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heart's Content Assisted Living and Rosewood Adult Foster Care for the exceptional care of Michael over the years.
