Michael Frank Kadlek

     Michael Frank Kadlek, age 73, of Owosso, MI, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, surrounded by friends, family, and the music of Bob Seger.

     A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held at a later date. Per Michael's request, his ashes will be buried during a private ceremony at Hamilton Township Cemetery at a later date.

      Michael was born in Owosso, Michigan on January 13, 1953, the son of Frank Joseph and Juanita Mae (Shinabery) Kadlek. He lived the majority of his life in the Ovid area, and worked at both Duall and Metpro for many years as a plastic welder where he fabricated and installed environmental pollution and control equipment in the field.

     Michael was a major Michigan State football and basketball fan. He never missed a game. He also loved his music, especially Bob Seger. Michael lost count of the number of times he got to see him in concert.

     He is survived by his children: Laura (Tom) Clark, Michael (Amy Bedford) Kadlek, and Joseph Kadlek; grandchildren Ashley (Travis) Cojocar, Allison Kadlek, Taylor (Ben) Hill, and Anna Kadlek; and great-grandchildren Archer, Logan, Holland, and Lennon. He is also survived by his best friend, Mike Penrod. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Patrick Kadlek.

     The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Compassus Care and Durand Care & Rehab, especially Nurse T, for their care and attention to Michael for the past year.
