Michael W. "Mike" Hanley, Sr.

      Michael W. "Mike" Hanley, Sr., age 39, of Elsie, MI, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022.

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes,  Elsie, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, with his brother Pastor John Hanley officiating. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Elba Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

     Michael was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 2, 1983, the son of Richard Joseph and Cynthia Marie (Lund) Hanley. He graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School with the class of 2001.  On July 15, 2009, Mike married Donna Jean Dysinger in Saginaw, Michigan. They have been married thirteen years.

     Mike was a musician and played many instruments. He enjoyed wood working, and playing baseball with his children. He was always ready for taking his family on a random adventure. He liked camping and fishing. He was a German Shepherd lover. Mike had a love of laughter and making others laugh. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them, caring for them, and embarrassing them as often as possible.

     Mike was a carpenter. He was a hard worker who took great pride in his work. He was a perfectionist and never satisfied with "good enough."

     He is survived by his wife Donna, four children: Bryanna (Kurk) Harris, Olivia Dysinger, Ryley Hanley, and Michael Hanley Jr.; and grandson Hayden. He is also survived by his father Richard Hanley Sr., mother Cynthia (Bob) Thompson; mother-in-law Elizabeth Dysinger; siblings: Richard Hanley Jr., John (Correy) Hanley, and Melissa (Ron) Wilson; grandmother Agnes Lund, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Russell Lund, and one cousin Eric Bruce.
