Mary Jane King, age 83, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, at Laurels of Fulton, Perrinton, MI.
No services are to be held at this time. Mary's wishes were to have her body donated to Michigan State University for research purposes.
Mary was born in Muskegon, MI on April 1, 1942, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Hogan) Hoefling. She shared many memories of growing up on her family farm in Ravenna.
She retired from Fisher Body in Lansing. Mary was a huge Elvis fan. She loved cats, playing golf, doing puzzles, and a feisty game of cribbage. Her grandchildren will fondly remember the late night ice cream runs with her and Grandpa Dave when they lived in Gladwin.
She is survived by her husband Dave King of 50 years; daughter Julie and Jay Corey of Lansing, MI; daughter Marie Badeaux-Welter of Lansing, MI; daughter Monique and Tom Hicks of St. Johns, MI; grandchildren: Austin Welter, Kayelene (Matt) Swanson, Rachel (Colton) VanAtta, Carmen (Hunter) Kitson, Amanda (James) Heiler, Carla (Alex Hammond) Hicks, Jordan Hicks, and Thomas Hicks; great-grandchildren: Emma, Abbigale, and Callen Swanson, Denver Kitson, and Katie VanAtta; also survived by Dave's two children and their families. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ruth Ann (Dick) Ellis, and son-in-law John F. Pirochta, Jr.
