Mary Ellen Richards

    Mary Ellen Richards, age 86, of Hudsonville, MI, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, at University of Michigan Health West, Wyoming, MI.

    A Private Graveside Service will be held at Union Home Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. 

      Mary Ellen was born in Middleville, MI on September 13, 1937, the daughter of Stanley Robert and Frances Sarah (McKevitt) Seekell.

     Mary Ellen married William Henry Richards on July 15, 1996. Bill passed on October 30, 2014. Mary Ellen worked various jobs throughout her life including: Fideler, Amway, and The Rockford Squire. She loved knitting and she donated hundreds of prayer shawls to her church. She enjoyed staying in contact with family and friends. Mary Ellen loved the many cats she had. 

     She is survived by her children: Lori Lynn and Harold Strang, Cathy-Jo and Orvin Sankey, Scott Allen and Denise Zimmerman, Donnie Lou and James Akins, Barry John Zimmerman, 9 grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bill.
