Mary Louise (Martin) Rhynard

    Mary Louise Rhynard, age 101, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams presiding.  Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Westphalia, MI.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass at the church.

     Mary Louise was born in Westphalia, Michigan on October 30, 1921, the daughter of Oscar and Philomena (Schafer) Martin. On June 8, 1944, Mary Louise married Gerald E. Rhynard. They were blessed with sixty-five years of marriage prior to his passing on October 17, 2009. She and Jerry were lifelong members of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

     Mary Louise dedicated her life to her family and caring for her home. She loved gardening and raised a garden until in her mid-nineties. She canned a lot of her produce and always had beautiful roses. She was a talented seamstress and created many gifts for her family. She was a great baker and her family loved her apple pie. Mary Louise was a hard worker and always busy.

     She is survived by her son Dale (Denna Aldrich) Rhynard; granddaughter Jennifer May Ann; three great-grandchildren: Kiara Paige, Domanic, and Miquel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald, siblings: Marcella (Richard) Gensterblum, Harold (Fran) Martin, Urban (Genevieve) Martin, and Elmer Martin.
