Mary Ann Koenigsknecht, age 88, of Fowler, MI, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021, at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI, at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, with Rev. Fr. Gary Koenigsknecht officiating.  Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI.

Mary Ann was born in Westphalia, Michigan on January 22, 1933, the daughter of Ferdinand and Pauline (Arens) Martin.  She graduated as the valedictorian of her class from St. Mary's High School in Westphalia, MI. Mary Ann married Roman Koenigsknecht on April 11, 1955, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia, MI.  They celebrated 65 years of marriage together.

Mary Ann retired from the State of Michigan Secretary of State in St. Johns after 15 years of service.  After retirement she volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul for 20 years. Mary Ann and Roman enjoyed traveling.  She liked cooking, reading, and gardening.  She was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI where she taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers.

She is survived by her husband Roman Koenigsknecht, children: Carol and Jim Maddox, Diane and Steve Wheeler, Tom and Sandy Koenigsknecht, Daniel and Janet Koenigsknecht, Denise and Rick Smith, Debra and Christopher Stellwag; 15 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.  She is also survived by sisters: Mildred Droste, Phyllis Thelen, Linda and Paul Armbrustmacher, Janice and Alvin Feldpausch; sister-in-law Genevieve Martin, and sister and brother-in-law Agnes and Leon Keilen.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ferdinand & Pauline, siblings: Norma Simon, Vernon Martin, Tony Martin, Frederick Martin, and David Martin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Most Holy Trinity Catholic School Trust Fund.  Online condolences can be sent to www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com.  The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes - Goerge Chapel, Fowler, Michigan.
